Set Your North Star
Define the values, purpose, vision, mission, and guiding principles that give your team a shared basis for making decisions—without needing to run everything through you first.
You have clear values, purpose, vision, and mission that are understood by the team and actually used to guide decisions across the business.
Why This Project Matters
Your team can't read your mind. That's just a fact.
What's also a fact is that as long as you need to vet all the decisions in your business, you get no time freedom. Instead of being a CEO, you end up being a babysitter.
As Gino Wickman says in Traction: "Most entrepreneurs can clearly see their vision. Their problem is that they make the mistake of thinking that everyone else in the organization sees it too."
This is why so many businesses have Purpose, Vision, Mission, and Values statements. The problem is that most of the time, these statements never actually end up being useful. Lots of words get written, but then it gets shoved into a folder and never looked at again.
Our goal is to create something that is actually useful — something that helps your team make day-to-day decisions. That means questions like "should we launch this new offer?", "should we say yes to this affiliate opportunity?", or "how should we structure our team meetings?" should all be values-based decisions.
When you have useful Purpose, Vision, Mission, and Values, your team will be able to make decisions in the day-to-day without you worrying that it won't be aligned, proactively come up with ideas that go beyond what you could personally imagine, and free you up from back-and-forth questions so you can focus on the work that truly only you can do.
